July 28th, 2010 - Mozart & Friends Writers Alfred Tuohey and Mimoza Blinsson have just hit Number 1 on the Japanese Single-Charts with Yamashita Tomohisa's Release "One in a Million".
The Song sold 71.040 Copies on the first sales day alone and was - on that day - the highest selling music product on the planet..
Making of "One in a Million" - Yamashita Tomohisa
The first version of "One in a Million" was created in November 2009. It was written by Alfred Tuohey and Vincent "Beatzarre" Stein with Mimoza Blinsson adding vocals and a bridge part.
Berlin-based Beatzarre is the leading German Hip-Hop Producer and has recently produced records for German Superstars Bushido, Sido, Fler and Duo Ich + Ich.
Beatzarre was invited by Mozart & Friends Director Marc Mozart to collaborate with various writers including Alfred Tuohey. The sessions that followed were only a starting point for an intensive collaboration between Mozart & Friends, Beatzarre and his production-partner Djorkaeff.
More sucess in Japan
Before the sensational success of "One in a million", Mozart & Friends Writers have already landed two more Number 1 records in Japan this year.
Alfred Tuohey's "I Don't Miss You", on which he was both writer and producer, was included on KAT-TUN's single "Going". The record sold 281.000 copies to date and is certified Platinum for sales of more than 250.000 copies.
Alfred also co-wrote the song "Hello" with Jason Worthy (who also produced the track) which was included on KAT-TUN's latest album "No More Pain". Again, the album went No. 1 in Japan, sold in excess of 172.517 copies to date and was certified Gold.
